When Nanase failed in her attempt to seal the Evil Youkai, because of the appearance of Kotengu in the process, she was scolded by her father.
Her father told the younger Nanase that being an exorcist, there should not be any pity when sealing a youkai, even if some lesser youkai got trapped together in the process.
